LESSON FOR LIFE
World over lockdown or restricted movement is going on. We are staying in the home for our safety, but we all are working. It is very difficult to stay home without work. Here, we can take a few lessons from our surroundings. There is one story in the Purana, once there was dispute arises between God Indra and Farmers.
Things turned ugly and rain God Indra decided that he will not shower rain in that particular area.
Farmers went to meet Indra but there is no respite from Indra over the rain.
Due to drought, all farming activity got stock. But Indra told them there will be rain after six years.
All farmers decided that they are going to God Shiva for the same.
Before them, Indra met Shiva and told Shiva not to entertain them or give them some excuse. When farmers came to see Shiva, he told them that when he will play with his Damru then there will be rain. When farmers asked for the exact time, Shiva told them about five to six-year.
All farmers came home, started doing things which are not related to farming(time pass). Only one of them went to the farm, started to do work related to farming. When others asked them what is doing and for what, he replied to them I am doing my routine farming work. All laughed at him, He kept working and improved his skills. He told them, it's a god who stopped the rain not me, I will do my work as it is.
When Mother Parvati listened to that particular farmer, she went to God Shiva and told him about a farmer. She told Shiva that you have stopped playing her damru(instrument) for a long time, do you remember how you used to play it. God thought that it's true I have not played it for a long time and he plays the Damru.
There is rain on the earth as God played his Damru.
The moral of the story works on your skill without thinking about today's condition.
There is one special frog in the Rain forest of the Amazon who changes his color as per the surroundings to give the enemy dodge. It not only protects him from the enemy only gives him his feed easily.
Again adoption is key to surviving and flourishing.
One story is there in the Mahabharata, Karna was far more superior or equivalent in Archery to Arjun. But God Krishna always preferred Arjuna. In the battle when Karna was going to die, he asked Krishna, why he favored Arjuna over him, as both are equal in Archery.
Krishna told him that, he always compared himself with Arjuna.
Arjuna always worked on his skill and worked as per his capability, you kept yourself engaged in comparison.
In the end, your skill and compatibility work for you not comparing yourself with others.
It is an opportune time for all of us to do things which will improve our skill and compatibility than thinking about the future or complaining. Live today for better tomorrow.
